Il Villaggio® Mascarpone & Phyllo Stacks with Strawberries
 
Ingredients
  • 1⁄2 cup Il Villaggio® Mascarpone, room temperature
  • 1⁄2 cup sugar
  • 1 pint strawberries, cleaned and quartered
  • 2 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar 1⁄2 cup butter, melted
  • 4 sheets phyllo dough
  • 3 Tbsp. confectioner’s sugar

Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Mix mascarpone with 4 tablespoons of the sugar and set aside.
  3. Combine strawberries, 3 tablespoons of sugar, and the Balsamic vinegar and reserve.
  4. Starting with one sheet of Phyllo dough, brush with the melted butter and sprinkle with sugar. Repeat this step with each sheet of Phyllo, stacking them one on top of the other. Then cut into 12 even squares.
  5. Bake squares on a cookie sheet for 15 minutes or until golden brown. Remove from pan and let cool completely before serving.
  6. To assemble stacks, place one piece of Phyllo on a plate and scoop one tablespoon of cheese mixture, then one tablespoon of strawberries, onto the first layer. Repeat with another layer of dough and filling, and then cover with third piece of dough. Garnish with a sprinkling of confectioner’s sugar.
