Smoky Italian Mac & Cheese
Warm up with this unique take on Macaroni and Cheese – a true smoky delight! Three Italian classics together at last! Mozzarella, Asiago and Parmigiano-Reggiano combine for one irresistible cheese pasta. Sun-dried tomatoes balance out the richness perfectly.
Ingredients
- ½ lb macaroni
- 8 oz. Il Villaggio Mozzarella
- 6 oz. chopped sun-dried tomatoes
- 4 oz. Il Villaggio Parmigiano-Reggiano
- 4 oz. Il Villaggio Asiago D’Allevo Vecchio
- 4 oz. Italian Speck (chopped into bite-size pieces)
- 4 oz. panko breadcrumbs
- 1 pint whipping cream
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1 tbsp flour
- ½ tbsp black pepper
- Pinch of paprika

Instructions
- Boil macaroni until it is almost completely cooked (will finish in oven)
- In a skillet combine speck, tomatoes, and black pepper. Cook on low heat for 10 minutes until the spec is somewhat crispy. Set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt butter and whipping cream. Then slowly stir in the mozzarella, parmigiano-reggiano, and asiago cheese.
- Once everything is melted, add the flour and stir. Bring to a boil then remove saucepan from the heat.
- Place macaroni in large baking dish, then mix in cheese sauce along with the speck mixture. Mix everything together until incorporated, then sprinkle panko breadcrumbs on top. Add a little grated parmigiano-reggiano on top, as well as a pinch of paprika for color.
- Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Serve & Enjoy!
